Biased Review is Good for Novelty & Gag Toys

I just want to start this review by saying it has nothing to do with practice, belief or authenticity. This is only an assessment of the quality of the product and nothing more. I bought this deck as a prop for roleplaying game Dread. Similar to Dungeons and Dragons, but instead of using dice to make decisions, this is a horror-based game that uses a Jenga tower. I needed a tarot deck for one of the NPCs and the holographic image makes the cards difficult to read. The so-called Major Arcana cards have English text, but the Minor Arcana are written in Mandarin. This isn't a problem at first glance as the images are clearly numbered and the images are obvious, but it can be annoying if you're unfamiliar with the suits of wands, chalices, pentacles and swords. The biggest problem with these cards is that this isn't a regular card set, it's essentially fragile cardboard. You don't shuffle into the bridge without bending the card, and shuffling cards from hand to hand even scratches the holographic seal a few times. The designs on the cards are very ornate and wonderful, but they get lost in the useless holographic design. By the way, the back of the cards is not holographic. If I had my way, the holography on the back would be much better and the drawing on the front less ugly. I only need this for one occasion, so it may have cost $10, but if you truly believe in the genuineness of your tarot deck's power, you should do something more sane.
