The reception from my local public radio station which is about 60 miles away is amazing. And since it's digital, it doesn't drift or disappear. The reception of HD channels is also incredible. For such a small radio I'm very impressed. Some reviewers were very negative about the sound quality. Come on, it's a small tabletop radio, not something meant to fill your living room with huge, incredible stereo. For a small table radio I find the sound quite acceptable. Of course, there's no boomy bass here, but how could you fit even a small woofer into this 7x6x2 inch radio? The speaker is only 2 1/2 inches in diameter. If you want more, you can buy a larger speaker and connect it to the output. The light from the front panel is bright but not difficult to focus on. low enough that it's out of the way, very difficult to see if you need to check the time in the middle of the night. Simple enough to cut out a piece of cardboard and glue it to the top of the front of the radio where it acts as a flap that can also be pulled down while you sleep and then flipped over for a moment to see the time. What a simple solution. All in all, I highly recommend the bedroom table radio.
