I recently bought a new cup warmer, a plastic one that turns on when pressed. It wasn't good at keeping my drinks warm so I looked for a special mug to use with it. This mug certainly played a big part in keeping my tea hot, not just warm. However, I have to say that the first time I used it with the supplied lid, I noticed an odd taste on the rim of the mug. I suspect some kind of coating on the lid has peeled off due to condensation forming when it was on my mug. This only happened the first time and hasn't been a problem since, so I'd recommend pouring boiling water over the lid before first use. Another downside to the lid is that condensation is likely to occur. So when you take it off you need to make sure you do it at an angle so it goes back into the cup and not all over the keyboard.
