This is a locket with clean, simple lines. It's molded from plastic and looks like plastic, but go over it with sandpaper to sand it down a bit and quickly apply a few coats of paint to give it a great look. I ordered one for a ceiling fan that was being installed over a large cutout and I have gone back to order 2 more for 2 ceiling fans that I will be installing next week. The tide is smooth and steady. nicely done but expect to apply a coat of paint if you don't want it to look like white plastic. Edit: Ceiling fans on the porch using these devices to plug the oversized hole the builders cut out of the plywood ceiling. I glued them to the ceiling with construction glue and had the painter paint them light blue while painting the porch ceiling. photo below.
