I like the screen size and the ability to mark the routes you have taken for later reference unfortunately the good quality ends there. For a device that costs just under $600, the onscreen graphics are pretty mediocre. Most trails within the Forest Service are numbered trails, not named trails. Magellen's mapping system uses names, dates, and user generics instead of numbers used by the forest service. So if you're not familiar with the local pathnames, you'll have a hard time doing some pre-planning. Another issue I found is poor customer support. I sent a help request for a setup issue, after waiting a week for a response, all I got was if you could take a picture of it and send it to us, which is pretty difficult with a setup issue. All in all I wouldn't recommend this system, there are a number of free systems out there that are better than the ones you can download onto your phone. This is a system that had a lot of potential but just didn't live up to it.
