So many people complain about all these different types of adapters that "this device was worthless!" And the reason is that they don't really understand how the Surface works. You can't just use just any USB-C charger and this adapter. For this, the charger must deliver at least 45 watts. I have a 60w Ravpower battery that keeps my surface charged for hours. I also have another power supply with a PD connector that doesn't charge it at all, not even a trickle! Doesn't matter? output power watts. The adapter works and works well. I've had it not long ago and can't speak to its durability but it feels pretty sturdy and it doesn't feel cheap and squeaky like cheap plastic items. If you need an adapter but don't have a 45W or larger adapter, buy one or keep moving but don't test it like it doesn't work. I actually taped mine to the back of my Surface so it's semi-permanent, but now I can always charge via USB and don't have to carry around an actual charger.
