Works but requires a dedicated port or charger

I have tried this with various PD chargers with the correct configurations (ie at least 45W). It worked when it was the only cable connected to the charger (I had a dual port charger). When plugged into both ports and trying to connect two computers (Surface and Chromebook) it would power through instead of charging all the time. So I would recommend using a single port charger with this adapter. That's why I have to have a second charger with me when I travel for four stars.

Pros
  • Allows you to charge Surface devices with a 45W 15V 3A USB-C Power Delivery (PD) wall charger or power bank. All you have to do is take your USBC charger with you to charge many devices, including Surface, on the go. It is very light and portable. It can also be used as a spare charger.
Cons
  • Minor issues

It's a pretty useful little gadget.

I recently bought a Surface Pro 7. I can finally charge it with my phone's USB-C cable. The only downside is that I will lose the USB-C port. I didn't want to carry around a surface charger to save a USB-C port. This is a really good companion. I only took my USB-C charger with me on the trip and had no problems. Since I have to lug around a small bag with a couple of adapters, retrofitting wasn't a problem. This is a good buy. As the little cartoon says, fast charging works.

Pros
  • Compatible: Microsoft Surface pro7/6/5/4/3, Surface Laptop1/2/3, Sruface Book1, Surface Go1/2.
Cons
  • Very expensive

The best adapter I found for 2017 Surface Pro

Bought a 60w charger to quickly charge my phone, bluetooth speaker and galaxy buds. It's disappointing that Microsoft has used a proprietary charging connector for its Surface range instead of the standard USB-C industry standard. Then I figured I was wondering if they make an adapter and they do! I tried another brand for less money but the magnetic mount wasn't very strong and the USB-C connector on it was loose. I tried it and everything is securely locked. I'm very happy to ditch the…

Pros

I ordered two but they look different

Change One of them stopped working after 3 months. Goes straight in the trash. Maybe it's shorted or something. ---- ----------------------------------- ------ When I made the purchase I changed the number to two, but one of them was longer than the other, the LED on each of them is different, and their braid is different. However, both work well and both were able to charge my Surface Pro 4 using the Google Chromebook charger. The USB-c male connects to the USB-c female very well, it just…

Pros
  • Requirement: This cable requires a USB-C charger or a charger with an output of 45W 15V 3A. The USB-C female charging cable also requires a USB -C cable that can withstand 3A current. Check your USBC charger to make sure its specifications say "15V/3A". Some Apple PD chargers do not support the cable. It is recommended to use the cable together with a GaN 3-port USBC charger to avoid incompatibility issues. You can find the link in the page details.
Cons
  • No instructions

It works and the people who complain about it don't understand it.

So many people complain about all these different types of adapters that "this device was worthless!" And the reason is that they don't really understand how the Surface works. You can't just use just any USB-C charger and this adapter. For this, the charger must deliver at least 45 watts. I have a 60w Ravpower battery that keeps my surface charged for hours. I also have another power supply with a PD connector that doesn't charge it at all, not even a trickle! Doesn't matter? output power…
