Poor product in interior

Installed on a 1993 Miata. Installation is a bit unclear and you will need a wiring diagram for your car to make sure you connect the wires correctly. After soldering all the connections and wrapping all the bare wires with electrical tape, I reconnected the negative cable to the battery and the car started with no problems the first time. I tried stopping the engine by applying the brake and pressing the start/stop button once, but it wouldn't stop. I tried again and eventually turned the starter solenoid back on and caused the starter to touch the flywheel while the engine was running causing it to rattle. I could only turn it off by turning the key to the off position. The car sat for a few hours and I decided to drive it and it started fine. I decided to turn it off again by pressing the brake and stop button and the engine died as intended. I thought the system went through the "learning process" and everything is fine. Stopped at the store, picked up stuff and restarted the car. As soon as I got home I hit the brake and the stop button and the engine wouldn't stop. I didn't want to hit the brakes again and hit the stop button again for fear of killing the flywheel, so I tried turning the engine off by turning the key to the off position. Ignition off and the engine is still running! Put the key back in and repeat the sequence of pressing the brake and pressing the stop button again and the starter solenoid will fire causing the starter to drag the flywheel! I don't remember exactly what I did, but in the end I managed to switch off the engine. Overall I think this product would be great if it worked properly, but it doesn't. I don't know if I received a defective one, but I will contact the seller for a replacement. I know my setup was correct as I used a voltmeter to measure the voltage (12VDC) for ACC, ON and Crank and the engine started on the first try. If this condition persists then this product is a liability and I consider this product UNSAFE for street use! This product obviously works randomly and I lost confidence in using the start button so I left the module in place but used the key to start the engine.
