Not the best - better in the pictures

This is one of those things that looks good in pictures, but when you get your hands on it you'll probably be a little disappointed. The top edge is very sharp so be careful how you hold it. Also, the pattern on the blade is nothing but sandblasting or something. Maybe not sandblasted because it's not rough to the touch, but it's definitely not what you imagine a true damask finish to be. I also think that there are already slight signs of rust on the upper edge. Overall disappointed with the overall quality but hey, it doesn't cost as much as really good Japanese damascus knives either.
