I have a 2018 Ford Explorer Limited. It goes perfectly with the black hole in the center console that the Explorers have. It fits so perfectly that it feels like it belongs to him, like it could be part of a cane. I have no idea why Ford doesn't offer something like this to researchers, otherwise it's impossible to find anything that fits this deep console. This will not block access to the USB port on the console. It is convenient to store in it a trifle, a phone, a key and a few other things. It only fits there one way. As for the reviews saying it doesn't fit, my guess is that they either have a different model year or are trying to install it backwards there. If backwards, the lid is tighter and the console lid will not close. The only downside is that it tilts slightly forward. Not a big deal, but I would have preferred it angled so the undersides are flush with the console. The small rubber mats that come with the kit prevent slipping.
