I have used them half a dozen times riding an enduro in the woods. They fit well, aren't too uncomfortable and from what I've read here they handle falls well. I haven't tested them in an impact, but at least I'm sure they protect against sharp rocks, gravel or branches. Good: Lightweight, articulated for mobility, reliable especially when tucked into riding boots, fits under breeches. Bad: I'm afraid it won't be long
