If you hate the trackpad, then this remote control is for you. It worked straight away with my 4th generation Apple TV. All I had to do was pull the tab to turn on the battery. I would like to give 4 ½ stars as the navigation ring makes clearly audible clicks but otherwise very good for the price. It's feather light and tiny, but the plastic is very hard and I doubt it's heavy enough to injure yourself if you drop it. I like this remote control very much. I like very small, clear remote controls and this is definitely the right one. There are no volume controls but that would mean less simplicity and I bought this for easier navigation. No more skating with a trackpad.
