I bought this switch for use in an on/off application in a mains powered (120 volt) project. This is a double pole switch so both the "hot" and "neutral" power wires can be effectively switched. In most cases there is no real reason to switch both legs of a 120 volt circuit. In most cases, this simply adds a bit of redundancy to the switch circuitry. However, there are certain applications where bipolar switches are very popular. it just wasn't really necessary for my use case. However, I chose this switch because of my acquaintance with Gardner Bender. I was confident that the switch would be of high quality and would withstand many on/off cycles. That extra confidence on my part made the choice easier. I installed a switch in my project case and it worked exactly as intended. The switch is a bit "hard" to use, not like a wall switch at all. I like the stiffness of the action because it takes the effort out of using the defined switch. You will never accidentally flip this switch. The switch looks as good as it works. This is an on trend commercial look that adds a little flair to an eye-catching mechanical project. Five stars for a quality switch. If you want one that will work for many cycles, give this one a try. You will not be disappointed.
