Review on πŸ’Ύ Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) C14 1.45V AMD Optimized Memory - Black+ by Tony Andrews

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best value for money I could find anywhere. Works great with Intel/x299. Samsung is dying.

I've looked everywhere for RAM to upgrade from 16GB (4GB x 4) 3000MHz C15 Corsair Dominator to 32GB. Everything I found seemed either overpriced or inferior specs for a lot of money. I don't care about RGB, just performance, and so far this RAM seems to be the best value (if you can live without RGB). This RAM works with both Intel and AMD boards. It's a low profile for cases with large air coolers or AIOs, and it's a Samsung B-Die. All in all, great value for money at the current price of around $160 for a set. For more than 16GB, 2 (or 4) kits must be ordered, which (currently) costs around $320, but for comparison, a similar Dominator 3600MHz C16 32GB kit is around $450, so $130 -Dollars more for worst performing RGB. My motherboard has 4 dimmers but if it had 8 you could buy 4 kits and have 64GB. In any case, this RAM should be bought in pairs, so either 1 set or 2 sets or 4 sets, with my best choice being 2 sets for best price and performance. Caveats: The motherboard must have good power regulation. I'm using an EVGA Dark X299, so the 1.45V required for the XMP profile doesn't bother me. This is normal as Corsair assessed it as such. As long as the motherboard supports this voltage, just set the XMP1 profile and you're good to go. However, I don't think this RAM can overclock above 3600MHz as it is already (I think) overclocked close to max by Corsair (only PC4-21300 is listed in HWinfo). I personally don't care because for a stable x299 day driver I wanted to hit 3600MHz with C16 timing or better. This RAM is C14, so even better. So far so good, 100% stable but if there are any issues I will update this review.
