Review on L LIMINK S11 Freestanding Kickstand: 12" 1080p IPS Display with HDR On/Off, Adjustable Brightness, HDMI, and Foldable Screen Option by Glenn Pavone

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Really wanted to like it but need to connect with 2x USB-C cables, bit heavy, niche

If this portable triple monitor screen extender only needed a USB-C or HDMI cable to connect to my laptop (I've used the M1 MacBook Air and Acer Triton 5) and had a more intuitive stand system, I'd use it every day . Unfortunately, due to the need to connect both monitors with two USB-C cables or HDMI cables (included in this kit), I found it too messy and cumbersome. Maybe if I were a frequent traveler and didn't have a decent three monitor setup at home it would be worth the effort, but for me it wasn't. Actually the panels in this triple monitor extender were fine, they were fine. They were very bright, but they were IPS so you could see images clearly on the screen from any angle. They're FHD, which also makes them more affordable, especially considering the size, which means the PPI/DPI is higher than a regular FHD laptop screen. However, these monitors are heavy. She couldn't hold my MBA M1 alone. I had to mount the stand on the back to make it stable enough for normal use. This means you need a large area to set up the entire system. Depending on your use case, this may suit your needs, but for me it was too niche and required too many tweaks to be used consistently. Instead, I will continue to carry a portable monitor with me when I need to do more complex tasks on a business trip or other remote location. However, I might use this if I catch the minimalistic bug and get rid of my current three-monitor setup at home.
