In my case, I had to remove both arms, start with the arm that needs to fit the side with less space, attach the center cross bolt, and then attach the other side arm. The tool works great if you center it carefully. However, I found it overpriced for what it does and how often it is used. One thing I learned from this experience is that you must use masking tape to mark on the windshield where the wiper blades are touching the windshield. Otherwise you'd have to use trial and error to find the perfect angle to mount the wiper so the driver's side wouldn't hit the driver's column if it was raised too high, so I had to remove the wiper arms a couple of times to get there the perfect angle. installation options.
