2010+ 4.6 liter Tundra

For those of you with 4.6 liter V8 Tundra. She! I installed this kit on my 2011 Tundra to replace the factory air intake and am happy so far. Took me about 3 hours to remove and install the old block. I'm very mechanical by nature but like to take my time and make sure everything is right the first time. Everything was included. Equipment, new hoses and filters. no parts are missing. Everything fits very well and very securely with no vibration or movement. Not many tools are required for installation. Screwdriver, 10mm socket, 10mm wrench and adjustable wrench. On the first start the engine cranked a few times before it finally started and I let the truck idle for ten minutes with the air conditioning off to adjust to the new intake. On my first trip out of the area I didn't hear any difference. The 4.6 liter V8 is a very quiet engine so I was surprised at how quiet it was with the new intake at idle and under normal acceleration. When I pulled onto an open road, it was a whole different story. I step on the gas pedal and WOW, that's loud! It has a really great sound when you open it, which is why I was doubly surprised by this kit. I could tell there was an increase in throttle response and acceleration, but I'm still not sure if MPG has increased. All in all, this was a great purchase for me. More power, never have to buy air filters again, great sound when you want it to sound great (low gear, hard acceleration) and it looks pretty good under the hood too. I'm glad K&N made the block for the 4.6 liter V8 as I couldn't find another brand to compare it to. Good job K&N and Revain!
