Yes the cover is soft but they are just flat pieces of paper with no elastic and there is no way to attach them to the headrest. You can't roll them up and force them to stay. The slightest movement means that part of the headrest is not covered. Since the vinyl on the table is marked with minimal facial oil let alone makeup I would recommend using something else to ensure your headrest is protected.
