DO NOT BUY! I bought this for my small 10 pound dog who is still pretty cheerful despite my best training efforts. I was initially happy with this purchase, but one day I noticed that Millie squealed louder than usual when she was shocked. shock included. I figured I might have accidentally shocked her as this had never happened before and tried to double check every time I put a collar on her. Today I can hear my dog screaming like never before so I run to her knowing the shock collar won't stop shocking her. She runs frantically, trying to escape the pain and screams at the top of her lungs. She bit me and my roommate when we tried to take her collar off, and she wouldn't normally harm a fly. As soon as I managed to catch up and finally remove the collar, I saw that without my intervention, the shock was set to maximum. My heart breaks at the thought of causing unnecessary pain with this faulty collar. Her screams haunt me to this day and everyone in my apartment is shocked because she is such a kind and loving dog who has turned into someone else entirely because of the pain. I would not recommend this collar to anyone who loves their pet. . I'm not one to write reviews, but if this review can save someone from the mistake I made, then it was worth my time writing it. This collar should not be offered for sale if the shock is self-acting. UPDATE: My roommate's wound is severely infected and we've had to spend all day waiting to see my doctor during a global pandemic. I will send this company an invoice for our medical bills.
