That is NOT 480 watts. Its power consumption is only 69W. IRRIGATION DESCRIPTION

I have several Nilights and this was a replacement for a dual row 22" 120w unit. I was extremely depressed when I measured the power consumption and found that it was only 69 watts. of 480 watts nominal power. The old dual row 120W unit it replaced used 96.6 watts. According to support they don't run this unit very high because they want to extend the life of the LEDs. If you do the math, this unit is 480W, which is 160. Then 3W LEDs draw only 0.4W per LED. They claim that even running at this extremely low level produces the same power as running 3 W operated where they are rated. If you look at the LED specs you will find out that it is NOT true. This was by far the worst product I have seen from them where they grossly falsely advertise the power to play this marketing game. Bad Nilight for that. If you want to run 3W LEDs 7.5 times lower than advertised, advertise a 69W fixture, not 480W. At 480 watts, that would be about 35 amps of power draw at 13.8 volts.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
