5 star pads! 10 star customer service!

Pros - I like the mounting system. Flybar uses the same elbow and knee pad attachment system as most other wrist protection companies. For the knee pads there are two 2 inch straps that are part of the material that secures the main pad. These primarily whip. Over this you then tie two 1 1/2" Velcro elastics with eyelet closures. This provides a sturdy knee (and elbow) pad that is somewhat flexible but does not wobble. This system allows you to put on your knee pads before or after you skate and adjust while skating. Due to the attachment system, the pads do not impede movement and are cooler than the elastic nylon webbing and strap system (see *** below). The size. Okay, the chart included by Flybar is not much help. I needed a medium elbow pad and large elbow and wrist pads.Fit should be measured above/below each joint. Here is my sizing chart for the flybar pads I have (approximately - if you're around, take your pick the next size up): Average Wrist Size: 5-6 1/2"; Large Wrist: 6-8" Medium Elbow: 10 1/2-12 1/2" Large Elbow: N/AKnee Med: 8-11 1/2", Big Knee: 12-16". . Of the middle pads I only bought matching elbow pads. I've looked everywhere for a similar patch. Nothing. So I went to the flybar site and explained my problem. I received an email saying call us. I called. standby menu. I spoke directly to the support team. They told me to keep the pillows and they sent me large wrist and knee pads. That's customer service. Troubleshooting. 5 STARS! ***Most elbow and knee pads are made of elastic nylon fabric and Velcro closures. Personal preference: I can't stand nylon fabric because it's uncomfortable, tight, and warm. Uncomfortable because it has to be put on before the skate, tight because it compresses knees, caviar and thighs; and warm because I'm sweating. Then you usually get 1 inch velcro straps to put on the nylon webbing, but if you can't tolerate nylon strap, you have 1 inch straps that provide a loose attachment on their own.
