Review on CocoDrill Coconut Opener Banana Slicer by Jessica Martin

Waste of money on mandolins and slicers

It came on time but I hate this product. I'm a raw vegan, so I crack open a lot of coconuts at a time (usually around 8-10). I thought this would be a quick and EASY way to get my coconut water, but I was wrong! This "drill" is so blunt that it is incredibly difficult to break through a young Thai coconut. You have to twist and push SO hard and if you're like me (low upper body strength) then it's going to be next to impossible for you. I couldn't pierce a few coconuts at all and ended up just popping them open my old (and much easier) way, slicing off a small part of the top with a knife and hacking them open. It's like you have to find the exact spot to put the drill or it just won't go in. I tried several points on each coconut before the drill (if it went in at all) finally went in. After twenty minutes and having only successfully opened 4 coconuts with the drill, I was too weak to keep trying that drill, switched back to the knife and did the remaining 5 I less than half the time I could with the drill spent. I would not recommend this product to anyone who needs to open multiple coconuts at once, has little upper body strength, or is in a hurry. waste of money. Fully. Oh and I didn't use banana slices because as a raw vegan I eat multiple bananas in one sitting and never slice them because my blender does that for me but it just ended up with a crappy drill so, xs, maybe I'll give it.

Pros
  • Graters, peelers and slicers
Cons
  • Out of style
