Review on PlexiDor Performance Pet Doors Medium by Kara Love

This is the 4th dog door in my family from PlexiDor. The other 3 were doors and were fantastic. However, this door is downright terrifying. The dimensions given in the PDF instructions on Revain do not correspond to the dimensions given in the instructions included with the box, which do not correspond to the actual dimensions required of the door opening itself and the inserts. DO NOT try to cut the opening or frame the wall before installing the door as this will mean extra work later. Likewise, you can essentially throw away the provided instructions as they are awful and the parts don't match as shown in the instructions. The build quality of the stainless steel channel insert is also terrible. Nothing fits flush with anything else, and every detail requires a significant amount of chasing, sanding, and cutting. Also, the channel is so slippery and reflective that in direct sunlight it heats up enough to burn the dog's paw pads, and we had to attach a separate adhesive rubber pad for our dogs to use safely. For the money this door is worth it's just a joke how bad the product is. I highly recommend buying one of the models that fit in the door frame and then building the duct yourself rather than spending extra money on it. If you have the funds and ingenuity to install this door, you can certainly make something more durable and of better quality yourself.
