My 9 yr old and friend enjoyed making these eraser animals. The tools help to make tiny add-ons, so the kit is do-able independently in that age range. It does require low baking for a period of time to set the animal erasers, and the tiny pieces don't necessarily stay on well. My 9 yr old and friend just displayed their creations and did not use as pencil eraser toppers or anything. I don't think they were intended for use so much as for fun to make and display. Provides an afternoon or 3 of activity depending on how many you make at a time.
