Too loose, not tight.

I have a 2014 Infinity Q50. I took out the old one which was a Nissan filter, it was quite tight but when I replaced it with this one it was loose so it wasn't as tight as the Nissan filter , but I can say that the smell in the car is not musty . Think I'll keep it if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
