Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's difficult to get everything right at HP, but it's worth it.

I had to give it 5 stars because I already knew a 2TB 5400rpm HD would be slow and I didn't care. PROS: Add says it comes at 2 years old. Extended warranty but when you go to HP it says 14 months left. Sign up with HP (call them) and provide Revain with an invoice showing the date of purchase and they will extend the warranty to 24 months. Didn't come up with "shit". Backlit keyboard. It also comes with a 3400-size battery. The same laptop with an SSD and no extended warranty costs about $400 more. VS: 2TB 5400RPM HD. not ssd Takes it always seems to load windows. I had a spare 480GB SSD and really knew that 2TB at 5400rpm would probably be too slow, and it was. If you've never used an SSD, you probably don't think it's that slow. NOW, replacing the hard drive and/or the battery in this monster is not an easy task, but you have to remove the back panel and unscrew all 10 screws, including 6 hidden under the non-slip rubber plates that pull out the DVD RW and 2 screws that hold it on the edge hidden. and you can do everything right. If you start a fresh installation of Windows on it, you will find that Ethernet or WiFi are not supported. So better go to HP and download those drivers and save them to a flash drive before you do this, so when you boot into a new SSD you can add the drivers back in to restore internet access for HP and all to have the correct driver installed for this laptop. Was not installed in the second hard drive cage. Just use the 2TB drive as a flash drive.
