We've been watching Elton Brown a lot since the pandemic. I mean A LOT Alton Brown. We noticed that he used these types of small hand held thermometers a lot and when the opportunity arose to try one of these we jumped at the opportunity. I think it's great for quick meat tests. Much more intuitive and less cumbersome than our long and confusing thermometer. The only downside is that by design, this device cannot be left in the oven. It is intended for immediate reading only. But for its purpose, we found it easy to use and fairly accurate. A nice bonus feature that we didn't expect: it's magnetic. So we keep it in the fridge instead of thinking about stuffing our drawer.
