Buy one size larger if you want to wear multiple layers of underwear.

I have a down coat and I love it so I wanted the jacket option when I don't need a long coat. I find it very warm and comfortable. It's lightweight so I don't feel like it's being pulled down like I've had with other coats and jackets. I think layers are a must. The large size fits perfectly with the sweater underneath. If I were to buy a medium I think it would be a bit adjusted to wear something thick underneath. Zippered pockets are also a must for me as I hate carrying bags and love to keep my phone and wallet safe. The fact that this one didn't have a hood didn't bother me as I usually wear a hat when it's cold.
