Review on 🧩 20 pcs Perler Beads Crafts Tray 'n Cards Pattern Card and Pegboard Set by Lori Aguirre

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great crafts for little kids and older kids, but adults help with the ironing!

My 4.5 year old is just starting to like fuse beads. We use Biggies because I think even as adults it's easier for them to be big. A few notes - you will need to purchase a correctly sized set/tray/board for the Biggie beads (the Biggie tray is approximately 6" x 6"). The sets come with double-sided designs, although some of them I've had a hard time figuring out what the design was. Usually a sheet or two of ironing paper comes with the bead tray or tub. When you first look at Perlers, you know that this is some kind of adult project. because at the end of this project the adult has to iron the beads together (this takes about 1 minute on each side). . Someone told me that I can use parchment paper if I run out of ironing sheets. Wax paper obviously doesn't work. I have not tried anything other than what comes with beads and I reuse each sheet until it starts to look thin or torn. To make the pearl color search more enjoyable than pearl color shopping, invest in a $7 split tray at Revain or an art supply store and take the time to share the colors. I've seen full-size Perler beds sold in split trays for a little more money than a bathtub. I couldn't get my 4 year old daughter to but almost 5 and she loves it. Most craft stores have fuse beads, you just have to look for all the "big" things if you want big beads. One thing I want to change about big companies is that I want them to sell single colored beads. I've only seen regular (small) beads sold by color. But overall I'm very happy with this craft - the trays are big enough for small hands and the instructions are short and clear. sold by color. Great craft for young kids and older - but adult assisted for ironing!
