Works well. Doesn't smell bad. I just find the instructions confusing. The instructions on the box say not to place it in the center of the microwave, but the instructions on the box say you MUST place it in the center. I tried this on the outside of a plate in my microwave, thinking the instructions stuck on it might be an "upgrade", but it didn't work. 2 1/2 minutes in my 1000 watt microwave didn't even soften the wax. I suggest doing something after 2 1/2 minutes at 15 second intervals just to be on the safe side and leaving it for a minute between each 15 second interval. until you see it soften.
