My slightly older Samsung Smart TV only has an optical audio input. Since I already had a Samsung soundbar plugged into this jack, I had nowhere to add an optical cable for my husband's new Sennheiser wireless headphones. It looked like the perfect solution to my problem. When it arrived I connected everything and. Nothing. Headphones didn't work. I tried everything and after two days of manipulation and a lot of online research I called the Nerd Squad for help. A guy came out and said he could fix it, but first we need to "get rid of that splinter". He said they just weren't a good fit for my situation. He connected the Sennheiser wireless speaker base directly to the TV's optical input. It then connected wirelessly to my Samsung TV through the Samsung soundbar. Presto. Everything worked wonderfully. Now my husband and I can listen to a movie without the risk of going deaf because it keeps telling me to "turn up the tv"! This splitter didn't work for me.
