I had some cords for lighting in a basement storage room. Cotton threads attached to a chain of metal balls broke constantly. Replacement cotton cords from hardware stores were quite expensive and I figured they might break even after a few years. This reel was easy because I could cut it to length with basic wire cutters and use the included connectors to attach it to an existing chain. It took me maybe 15 minutes to cut and paste everything and now I don't have to pull the cord and use a ladder to turn the light on or off so it was a good buy.
