I washed the gravel for about 30 minutes before finally feeling comfortable enough to put it in my aquarium.

I was very careful with this in my aquarium because when I washed it with tap water the water mostly turned black due to what was used to make this gravel. I washed the gravel for about 30 minutes before finally feeling comfortable enough to add it to my aquarium. My bettas are comfortable. Looks beautiful in my mounted bowls. There are also shells in the gravel which you don't see in the photos. There are very few of them, but they exist.
