Review on Merrell Girls Hiking Purple Medium Boys' Shoes : Outdoor by Andrew Agarwal

Failed home water test

I really liked these boots. They fit great and were my daughter's favorite of the 3 pairs we ordered. But they failed the water test. After reading reviews saying they weren't waterproof, I washed them under the tap at home, being very careful not to get water on the boot. The interior initially remained dry. After being taken out of the water, however, it only took a few minutes for the inside to get wet. Within an hour they were soaked. The design is odd - the outer part seemed to keep the water inside - against the liner - instead of repelling it. It absorbed and retained water, making the boot noticeably heavier than the previous one. After 24 hours it is still wet inside. I'm so glad I didn't check the waterproofing on the hike. They keep children's feet dry in wet grass, but they can't stand light rain or deep puddles.
