Advantages: They have very grippy soles! My 4 year old had no problem scaling slippery logs, muddy slopes, etc. in the coastal redwood cloud forests of the Pacific Northwest. I really liked these boots. They fit great and were my daughter's favorite of the 3 pairs we ordered. But they failed the water test. After reading reviews saying they weren't waterproof, I washed them under the tap at home, being very careful not to get water on the boot. The interior initially remained dry. A well-made shoe that I'm sure will last through one winter on the playground spring will look good! The colors go well with jeans and most tops - not mean! My 6 year old granddaughter loves them.
