My wife rolled her eyes when I said we needed a $60 Pro wireless controller for our Nintendo Switch. But it's a great controller and we use it 90% of the time now. But when she offered to buy a second one, I felt a little guilty about shelling out another $60 for a second Nintendo controller that would be used far less often. I was also concerned that Nintendo basically refuses to offer any color other than black, so I'd have two identical controllers and wouldn't know which one was recently charged etc. So I decided to try this third-party controller. Hm . heavily inspired by the form factor of the original, but at half the price! The reviews seemed decent, except for the occasional person who complained that theirs was down and not connecting. I have the red one and so far so good! It seems a little lighter than the Pro Controller (which isn't necessarily bad for kids), but one of the side benefits of this is that they add about 1/4 the battery life. However, 10-12 hours is perfectly acceptable for a second controller. I'd say there are subtle differences in the materials and feel of the controller that signal this isn't the "real deal," but those are pretty minor differences and it doesn't feel cheap overall. Definitely better than using the JoyCon and beware of my beating on inevitable joystick failure due to "drift" mileage. The only (slightly weird) difference between the original and this fake is the rumble feature. It absolutely works, but it's too powerful and you can hear the motor running, which you just can't hear with a professional controller. However, this isn't a huge issue and not worth the extra $30 just to upgrade the screen, assuming everything else with the controller continues to work 'as is'.
