Review on TOYOTA Cabin Air Filter Replacement - TYC 800005P by Joe Ashan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great replacement for Toyota Prius Gen II (04-09)

Perfect first time fitment for Toyota GenII Prius including 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 models. Replacement is very easy, takes less than 2 minutes if you know what you are doing. If you've never done this before, save $80 at the dealer and spend 5-10 minutes on it. so that the glove box does not fall on the floor, and lower the glove box further than the stops that prevent it from moving on the right and remove it from its small plastic ledge. 4) Now the glove box should come off completely and you can place it where it won't get scratched. 5) The white box just behind the glove box contains the HVAC fan motor that circulates the air in the car and the filter. There are two tabs to the left and right of the smaller rectangle at the top. Squeeze the tabs and pull them toward you. This little book-sized thing will come out in its entirety. Take it to the trash can or outside and remove the cloth filter from inside. 6) Replace the filter with this one. Be sure to place the flat side on the underside like the original and position the small tabs over the fabric to keep it loose. 7) Insert the white booklet with the new filter into the slot you removed above the fan motor assembly. . Notice that the white plastic piece you removed has the words "Top" or "Top Side" cast into the plastic. Make sure you set it up so that these words are correct (readable). 8) Replace the glove box in reverse order of disassembly. 9) Enjoy the $80-120 you saved from theft and know it was done right.
