EDIT: Athye Inc. Quickly sent me a replacement adapter of the same model and it works great, 5 star service! The charger I received (it was the exact same model as the one I used previously) made a loud clicking noise when it shorted out about two minutes after being plugged in. I'm pretty sure it's not related to my setup as the charger I used before (same model again) never had this kind of problem and only stopped working when the cable broke. I used the same laptop, same port on the same power strip. This charger just died.
