Review on ๐Ÿ’พ A-Tech 2GB DDR2 800MHz RAM Memory Upgrade Kit - PC2-6400 240-Pin UDIMM for Desktops by Marcus Hussain

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I had to remove 2 of my good 1GB of memory plus a broken one

Very fast service. Received the package a day early. As far as memory chips are concerned, they are NOT ECC. This was not mentioned in promotional materials but was clearly stated on the chip holder packaging. Since the memory in my computer was ECC I had to remove 2 of my good 1GB memory and also the bad one. I decided to order another set of two 2GB Dimms to push my computer to the extreme. Caution! I'm a former IBM field service engineer and have a static electrical grounding kit that I used when working with these memory circuits. This is very important in order not to damage them with a spark of static electricity. You can handle them without such a kit, but in addition to turning off the computer, you must maintain contact with the computer case when working with the memory, including removing it from its storage packaging and inserting it into the computer. I would advise finding someone with PCB experience if you haven't done this successfully before.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
