Review on πŸ“» FM Bandstop Filter v2 (FM Notch Filter) - Flamingo+ FM - Enhancing Software Defined Radio (RTL-SDR) Applications by Blocking Interfering 88-108MHz Frequencies from SMA-Connected Radios by Patrick Burton

If in doubt, get V2. The older model can only be used to a limited extent.

This is a much better filter than the original model for most applications requiring an FM tag. His shoulders are much sharper and so you can use the planes band, which is almost useless with the V1 filter. (See my sweeps above for both filters. The V2 filter is much sharper of the two.) Attached, this is just a reference image of what you will receive to show its overall size compared to the N-SMA adapter and load . This gives you an idea of how small it really is. These things are about the size of a large matchbox. Hooray!

Pros
  • Flamingo+ FM has higher attenuation than other similar commercial filters, as well as lower insertion loss outside the stopband (<0.25dB average) and less impact on the adjacent VHF 108-137MHz HF band (8dB average). Attenuation compared to an average of 16 dB for similar filters)
Cons
  • Requires Socket
