This camera model looks good. I bought the same model two days before this refurbished model and used both (and a third Canon camcorder) to record two productions: a big stage presentation and a small, intimate songwriter's concert. "New" camera worked perfectly. However, the "refurbished camera" I received from Kaleidoscope has terrible sound. There is a lot of hissing or noise that almost drowns out the actual sound of the program making the recording almost useless. This happened on four different SDHC cards (two from each project) as well as the internal storage, which I also checked after finding the problem. This is undoubtedly why the camera was returned and "refurbished" in the first place. Luckily, I also use a Zoom digital recorder to record audio, and I had audio from a deck at a big gig so I could get through (although the poor audio made video from that camera much more difficult to sync into Final Cut) . Professional). If this was my only camera it would be a complete disaster. I included a 20 second clip from this camera. He was four to six feet from the object. The camera, which was 15 meters away, recorded it very clearly, without any noise interference. I contacted the seller via Revain on March 9th (they should have responded within two business days). It's been a week and still no reply. Due to the editing of three other projects, I didn't listen to any recordings from this camera until I finished recording the second concert. Unfortunately, this turned out to be three days past Revain's 30-day return policy. I don't generally leave negative reviews and have a number of positive ones, but this review is for the seller, not necessarily the camera. However, I would be wary of refurbished cameras from this company. It seems that it cannot be repaired at all, but simply resold. If this is not the case, Kaleidoscope Electronics has to prove it by replacing the faulty camera with a really working one.
