Bad or damaged cartridges
The product was defective. They turned out to be old reusable cartridges, some with melted or damaged tabs preventing recording. On several computers, the tape hangs, then freezes and ejects within seconds. Putting tape on the damaged tabs helped and some of the tape was usable, but some I had to throw away. I have sent the data to the company.
