The speaker with the included stand fit very well on the mantel, no wall mounting was necessary. It centers the sound very well on my monitor mounted above my fireplace. The sound is very good considering how thin this speaker is. The sound is on the bright side but seems to have warmed up a bit after breaking in. The speaker is best complemented by a warm sounding receiver. In my case, I'm using an Onkyo TX-NR838 and I'm very happy with the overall sound. One of its main advantages is the good sound distribution over a large area. There is no noticeable change in sound quality as you move around the room. There is no "sweet spot" that I am limited to. The sound is consistent no matter where I am. The thin woofer drivers are flat, emulating the advantages of BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) drivers, although KEF doesn't claim this. Combined with a vented Tangerine waveguide tweeter, this speaker is an excellent choice for off-axis listening. The speaker comes highly recommended for its versatility, sound quality and excellent sound distribution.
