Review on Optimized Petmate Kennel Cab Soft-Sided Pet Carrier by Pamela Begay

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for my little dog

This is my second one. I had the first one for six years with no problems. However, after a recent trip to Florida, I sprayed it with Lysol and tossed it aside. When I used it again six weeks later, I found that the moisture and Lysol had caused mold to form on the underside. So I bought another one. My dog is a six pound Rat Terrier mix. She doesn't like being in a carrier, but she seems to understand that in a carrier she will see Grandma and Grandpa. As a result, she is very calm with him and does not try to run away. The bottom of the carrier is removable and has a kind of carpeted floor. My dog is a digger and when inside he tends to dig into the removable floor and tear up the carpet inside. Even after six years, it still hadn't done enough damage to pierce the removable floor. However, she made holes in their dog beds. So I think the quality of the carrier is pretty good. Even if she punched a hole in the removable bottom, it wouldn't affect the actual bottom of the stretcher. Perhaps the stretcher is a bit larger than necessary, but I didn't feel comfortable buying anything smaller. She has room to roll over and is usually curled up when she sleeps on the plane so there is always plenty of room for her.
