Review on πŸ“± Crystal Pilot FlightFolio for iPad Mini 5 - Premium Full Grain Leather Kneeboard for Flights by Chris Palmer

Not very flexible to fly

I haven't found any flaws in the build quality or materials yet. The product comes as a foldable folio with an integrated plastic iPad mini stand, a magnetic closure that adjusts to the iPad stand, a small notebook, and an elastic leg strap with Velcro closure. There are magnets under the front and inside at the top. The goal is to tie the folio to the knee and then use the clipboard either at the top of the closed folio or inside and to the left of the open folio. If you do this, cover art and clipboard will not be supported. I found the clipboard magnets weak. I've tried using rare earth magnets to strengthen the bond, but the clipboard never felt secure. The size of the clipboard is almost the same as a notebook for school children. It is printed with IFR information hidden if you use Notepad. A plastic card with information about the TFR printed on it is included. I would have liked about this size for the clipboard. Little more than the clipboard itself. I almost never use the iPad stand feature, so it's a wasted design element. iPad mini in flight. For the amount I paid, a second leg strap could have been useful. I can't afford to lose my notebook in flight because the manufacturer made the magnets or the clamping mechanism cheaper. They could have left out the second strap and made the clipboard big enough to be usable. I will keep looking for a solution that works for me.
