Oh how Dell has fallen. This expensive little device has a fatal flaw: the power connector inside the module has a contact that breaks very easily. I mean it breaks if you just turn it on and off multiple times. The docking station is completely useless if it breaks. You can hear the pin rattling inside after it breaks. I knew DisplayLinks had this problem and was pretty cautious about it. I worked with it for a little over a year before it broke. Furthermore, Dell's customer service has to be the worst customer service on the planet and it is a confirmation that the IT world has very poor customer service. Just try explaining to the person answering the chat or call that you don't have a "PC Service Tag" for your dock. You spend 45 minutes on hold, then they put you on hold again, just waiting to be told your warranty expires on the date of manufacture, not the date of purchase (which is actually against US law, but try giving a lecture on the Uniform Commercial Code to someone from Chennai on the phone). Really poor quality product and worse than useless customer support. Buy peripherals from just about anywhere else.
