Looks like a manufacturing or design defect.
All three devices we bought have the same problem. After a label has been printed, Battery Low will appear on the display. This is very annoying. It still works but you have to reset the battery error every time. We use the recommended batteries and have changed them several times. Batteries are fine. This low-budget model has no outlet. So if you buy one, just get used to clearing the battery message. It has more features than the Hobby model, but overall the Hobby is easier to use and definitely better finished.
