For the money, this shelf is very good. I didn't buy it to use as a good piece of furniture. I use it to store extra kitchen appliances in my closet. It came in the perfect size. The height is taller than most brands of this width/depth and has an extra shelf. The photos clearly show that the shelves are, I believe, "upside down". I don't necessarily like them that much, but I expected that. In my opinion, no distortion. If you have something hanging over the edge of a shelf, you might not need this block (when you flip the shelves, they don't completely cover the shelf clips and make the whole thing a little wobbly, IMO). , bread maker, etc. I am satisfied with the purchase.
