I'm wearing my third pair in a month and I've FINALLY learned my lesson. Yes, there is a terrible design flaw with shoelace eyelets. The flimsy rubber can't handle tight laces, and many reviews, including this one, point to a fatal flaw. BUT, this can be avoided! I didn't want to give up as this shoe was more comfortable than the previous six I tried on. So for my third pair, after 'ripping' twice, I decided to punch holes in the eyelets and shoe material to match the top eyelet so designed. The issue has been resolved and will last less than 10 minutes. I drilled holes in the boot material with a very small Phillips screwdriver and laced the boot back up. Now I can enjoy the comfort of these shoes without worrying about the rubber tearing a third time. Don't miss out on these shoes!
