Review on πŸ§” Layrite Beard Oil Concentrate - 2 Fluid Ounces by Andrea Church

Unique market entry for beard oils

This product offers a very good balance between a typical low viscosity oil and a solid balm. It really is less oil and more lotion, and this unique formulation helps make it arguably the best beard moisturizer I've ever used. I usually apply it 2-3 times a day just because I like it. (Or rather, my skin and beard enjoy the hydration.) The packaging has the added benefit of many oils that you can pop it in your suitcase or dope kit without worrying about it spilling. Try this with an oil drip and you'll end up wiping the oil off everything you've got. Not so with Layrite oil, whose tube and cap make it as tight as a roll of toothpaste. However, I will support other users and say that the flavor profile is very specific. Layrite calls it "cream soda," but it reminds me most of Queen Helene's cocoa butter lotion. It's not an unpleasant smell by any means, but it's a cut above soft and I don't think I would consciously choose it for my beard. I like the moisturizing effects so much it's not a deal breaker and I'll probably buy it again in the future; but I certainly see some people disliking it and rejecting the offer altogether. Considering it's such a great product otherwise, I think Layrite would do well to release other scent profiles, make it unscented, or at least make it in a milder version.
